I can still remember the look on your face every time you saw me in your presence. You’d sigh in relief as if seeing me lifted off all the stresses weighing on your shoulders. I miss you. I miss looking at you. I miss meeting gazes, looking away, meeting gazes again, and you awkwardly saying, “What?” with a cocky smile on your face. I don’t want to be someone you regret. To wish we never happened is like wishing I never came into your life or wishing I didn’t exist anymore. I don’t know what you’re thinking and I can’t guess what you’re feeling because I don’t know who you are anymore. I used to know you so well, but now we’re just strangers living in the same city. I guess a lot does change in a year. I can’t imagine how much you’ve changed in the past two.

You were so oblivious to your own toxicity, but at least you tried.

“I’ll see you later,” was the last thing you said to me and I believed you.
